Effortless detection of intruders

Published on

Spotbot is showing its compact electronic AI hardware device at Securex this week, which turns a CCTV camera system into an advanced intruder detection system.

As Spotbot director Jan-Adriaan Cordier explained, this plug-and-play security solution not only detects an intruder, but also alerts the property owner and the user’s armed response security company.

“The user simply connects the Spotbot to the same LAN (router) their CCTV camera system is connected to, sets up the Telegram app on their smartphone, and selects all the cameras they wish to monitor.”

This small device, about the size of a cigarette box, monitors up to eight camera feeds at a time for human and vehicle intrusion on a property.

“Moving vegetation, pets and insects often creates false alarms,” Cordier explained. “Using advanced detection technology, Spotbot is able to exclude such moving objects and only alerts the user and their security company when a human or vehicle form is identified.”

Acccording to Cordier, once Spotbot detects an intruder, it alerts the user with a photo on the user’s Telegram app. It also displays a photo of the intruder on a screen monitor and emits an audible alarm on a speaker, which is most important for when the user is asleep.

The company is now offering a Spotbot pop-up unit, an advanced, stand-alone security system comprising the the Spotbot, a bank of CCTV cameras, a back-up battery and a solar panel.
